The world's first open source and open intelligent networked roadside unit operating system (Intelligent Road OS) was released in Beijing E-Town on Aug 1. It marks the entry of the intelligent networked industry into a new stage of development.

The release of "Intelligent Road OS" was initiated by six institutions such as the Society of Automotive Engineers of China, Tsinghua University Intelligent Connected Vehicle and Transportation Research Center, Tsinghua University Intelligent Industry Research Institute (AIR) and Baidu. As the world's first open source and open intelligent networked roadside unit operating system, open source, independent controllability, and networked ecology are the three core value points of "Intelligent Road OS".

"Intelligent Road OS" is one of the basic key common technology research projects among many industries in Beijing's high-level autonomous driving demonstration area. It has been implemented in a number of ecological applications. 

Through the construction and application of the 2.0 stage of the demonstration zone, it has realized the distribution of connected driving application services with many car companies, and served more than 100 different types of high-level autonomous vehicles for normalized testing and commercial services.
